The First of Many ........
This week, my MIL will experience her first anniversary without her husband by her side. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son, and a godly man. He was a proud grandfather, as well. (This is the only picture I have of him with Riley. )
We all have our moments of sadness, but we are trying to learn to get along without him. In June, we all gathered beside his grave with a "birthday cake" Mom had made and there we tearfully sang "Happy Birthday" in honor of what would have been Dad's 50th birthday. There was a snap glow sticks for candles. Each one represented his grandchildren.
We still will have other first without Dad and they will be hard as well but I choose to celebrate each day because I had the chance to know such a man. I cherish my days with my family and even though they test my patience, I know God has our days numbered.
Thank you, Jesus for loving us enough so that one day, we can see each other again. Amen.
